RJC Ethics charter
Policy

CALLISTOREA is a jewellery manufacturer and wholesaler.

Our company is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), a standards-setting organisation dedicated to promoting ethical, social, environmental and human rights practices throughout the jewellery supply chain (gold, silver, platinum group metals, diamonds and coloured gemstones).

The RJC has developed a benchmark standard for the jewellery supply chain, together with credible mechanisms for verifying responsible practices through independent third-party audits.

As a member of the RJC, we are committed to conducting our business in compliance with the RJC Code of Practices.

We pledge to integrate ethical, social, environmental and human rights considerations into our daily operations, including sourcing, strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Human Rights

We respect human rights in line with the United Nations Guiding Principles and the International Labour Organisation Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, including applicable legislation relating to disciplinary procedures.

We firmly reject and condemn child labour, forced labour, undeclared or clandestine labour, human trafficking, and any form of discrimination, harassment or workplace violence. We will terminate any relationship with the party concerned in the event of a breach of these provisions, until the risk is mitigated.

Due Diligence

We implement the OECD five-step framework for risk-based due diligence regarding the supply chain of minerals from conflict-affected and high-risk areas.

We also commit to using our influence to prevent potential abuses by other parties.

Know Your Counterparties (KYC)

We will establish the identity of our counterparties and, when recommended by risk analysis or required by applicable law, of their ultimate owners and beneficiaries.

We will verify that our counterparties and/or beneficial owners, where applicable, are not listed on any relevant government lists of individuals or organisations involved in money laundering, fraud, illicit organisations or conflict financing.

We will ensure that the nature of their activities, their funding, and the sources of their materials are known.

Corruption, Anti-Money Laundering and Facilitation Payments

We do not engage in any form of money laundering or terrorist financing, nor do we tolerate such activities.

We support transparency of payments from governments and security forces that comply with rights in the extractive industries.

We firmly reject and condemn all forms or attempts of corruption and facilitation payments, regardless of how they are presented. We commit to supporting employees who may face attempted corruption.

We will contribute to efforts to eliminate money laundering in situations where we identify a reasonable risk of it arising from, or linked to, the extraction, trade, processing, transport or export of gold, silver, platinum group metals, diamonds and coloured gemstones.

Harassment, Discipline, Grievance Procedures and Non-Retaliation

We guarantee a respectful and secure working environment, free from any form of discrimination, moral or sexual harassment, sexist behaviour or attacks on dignity. We are committed to promoting inclusivity, diversity and equity in all our practices, so that every employee can flourish and contribute to our collective success. We guarantee our employees freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, in a climate of mutual respect and without fear of reprisals or negative consequences. We also allow stakeholders to express their concerns anonymously and without fear of reprisals regarding possible mistreatment at work, human rights violations, corruption, or issues related to the jewellery supply chain. To this end, we have set up and made available to interested parties a complaint handling mechanism, which can be obtained on request from the following address: marie@callistorea.com

Environmental Protection and Climate Action

We adopt environmentally responsible attitudes and practices to minimise our impact on the environment.

We take all possible measures to reduce our ecological footprint and build a legacy for future generations.

We encourage our partners, subcontractors and suppliers to embrace these values and contribute to these commitments.

We raise awareness among employees about environmental issues and the behavioural changes they entail.

Safety and Security Policy

We provide decent and appropriate hygiene and safety conditions in the workplace. We employ our staff in strict compliance with labour law: working hours, employment conditions, general terms of recruitment, workplace health and safety, and disciplinary procedures, in accordance with French regulations and the International Labour Organisation. We prioritise the safety of people over that of property.

Kimberley Process

We are committed to respecting and promoting the KIMBERLEY PROCESS for the purchase and sale of diamonds.

Responsible Sourcing

We will cease all relationships with upstream suppliers if we reasonably identify a risk that they are engaged in the abuses set out below:

Regarding serious abuses in mineral extraction, transport or trade

We will not tolerate, assist, facilitate, benefit from, or contribute to the following acts in any way:

  • Torture or cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment.
  • Forced or compulsory labour.
  • The worst forms of child labour.
  • Violations and abuses of human rights.
  • War crimes or other gross violations of international humanitarian law, crimes against humanity or genocide.

Regarding direct or indirect support to non-state armed groups

We will not tolerate any direct or indirect support to non-state armed groups or their affiliates — notably through the supply of precious metals, diamonds or coloured gemstones, payment of money, or provision of logistical, material or other assistance — engaging illegally in the following activities:

  • Illegal control of mine sites or transport routes, mineral trading points and upstream supply chain actors.
  • Illegal taxation or extortion of money, gold, diamonds or coloured gemstones at mining sites, along transport routes, or at trading points of gold, silver, platinum group metals, diamonds or coloured gemstones, or against intermediaries, exporters or international traders.

Regarding public or private security forces

We affirm that the role of public or private security forces is to ensure the safety of workers, facilities, equipment and property, in accordance with the rule of law, including legislation that guarantees human rights. We will not provide any direct or indirect support to public or private security forces that commit the abuses described or act illegally as set out in the paragraphs above.

Regarding corruption and false declarations

We refrain from offering, promising or granting bribes, and we resist demands for bribes with the aim of concealing or disguising the origin of gold, silver, platinum group metals, diamonds and coloured gemstones, or of making false declarations concerning taxes, duties and royalties paid to governments for the extraction, trade, processing, transport and export of these materials.
